Instead of purchasing food from large box stores that channel money away from the inner city, we buy food from inner-city businesses and social enterprises. These businesses would otherwise see lower sales for food during the Christmas season because the "free food" that is entering the community depresses local grocery sales.

Instead of just connecting people to jobs, our partners give people hands-on training and work experience. This support is essential for long-term employment. Also, our partners hire locally, which creates connections between workers and their community. This significanlty increases the chances of success for the workers.
