LITE is a partnership-based organization that creates unique partnerships with other charities, non-profit organizations, social enterprises, volunteer organizations and small business in support of employment / entrepreneurial skill development, creating job experiences and learning opportunities for people who face social or economic barriers to success. Our charitable goal is poverty reduction using the tools of community economic development, with a focus on helping people overcome barriers to employment.

About Partnership

Eligibility Requirements:
In order to be a Job Partner with LITE, your organization must:

  • Be based in Winnipeg.
  • Define the social-good outcome our partnership aims to serve (participant or neighborhood level) that results in an identifiable employment or economic development outcome that supports employment.
  • Be a registered non-profit, charity, or for-profit business.
  • If a privately-owned business: Be able to articulate either a demographically-based or neighborhood-based benefit from partnership. For example, a new or existing businesses owned by newcomers/refugee, Indigenous or Metis person, and who serve a low-income community.
  • Agree to report on partnership-based activities only and/or facilitate participant surveys..

LITE aims to create mutually-beneficial and multi-faceted outcomes from collaborative partnerships.
As a LITE Job Partner, your organization can access:

  • In-kind support from LITE, such as, development support, peer-based learning opportunities, and marketing opportunities (eg. inclusion in social purchasing gift guides/catalogues).
  • Opportunities for direct support, from social enterprise initiatives that create employment experiences for your participants, grants that can either create small jobs for participants or provide wages for your fledging social enterprise endeavor (charities only), and invitations to join us on employment-focused funding applications.
  • Social media engagement, including special promotions (eg. a campaign promoting social enterprise, SE-and-small business partnerships) and video features.
  • “First look” at upcoming opportunities, invitations to collaborations, and ongoing consultation.

Expectations:
As a LITE partner, you agree to the following:

  • Agree to be listed as a LITE Job partner on all LITE communications, which we will share with funders and media.
  • Agree to report the impacts and outcomes of our working together. The level of reporting will be commensurate with the depth of our annual engagement. For example, grant-holders should expect a higher level of reporting, whereas participants in a smaller project may be asked to fill out a 5-minute survey.
  • Reciprocal social media, commensurate with partnership engagement.
  • Agree to engage in mutually-beneficial story-telling, and identify individuals that would be willing share their story to LITE donors, supporters and the general public.
