Education Events

Reducing poverty includes ensuring each community understands the opportunities they have and collaborating to bring those opportunities into reality. By creating education opportunities through events, volunteering programs, and other initiatives, we help our sector and job partner network build capacity to serve the community better.

Advocacy

We believe that a robust social enterprise sector is key to creating a society of opportunity for everyone.

Growing the social economy means creating a more fair, just, and inclusive economy for all of our community.

Better public policies offer social enterprises, non-profit organizations and private business leaders alike a chance to network and grow the local economy.

LITE supports the work of advocacy groups in Winnipeg and beyond by working with coalitions of social enterprises to encourage each level of government to adopt social procurement policies.

Governments are among the most diverse and powerful purchasing bodies anywhere. From office supplies and catering to infrastructure and major developments, government procurement is a major contributor to every level of the economy.

These regulations help the social economy grow alongside private business, providing a chance for community economic development, increased sustainability, and improved skill and diversity within the labour force.

News & Events

Throughout the year, we convene learning events, provide policy updates and advocate for the social economy sector. This work helps us keep our community growing in both knowledge and practice.
