LITE works with our Job Partners to help newcomers, people struggling economically and with social barriers, and people who have not had ‘professional’ jobs with their interview skills.

“Participating as a mock interviewer has allowed me to meet wonderful new people while lending my support to their job search efforts. The participants are highly motivated to find work and I am pleased I can play a small role in their success.” – Elizabeth, LITE Volunteer

Many organizations already provide this service to their participants, however, LITE understands that participants would appreciate mock interviews with people that they aren’t familiar with, preparing them for a wider variety of situations.

All of the activities happen via emails, online appointment apps, and teleconferencing.

The mock interview process

Mock interviews happen via teleconferencing to keep up with COVID-19 prevention efforts. Volunteers are given a set of documents to help them out with conducting interviews, so that they can make this process standardized.

After the interview, the volunteer you interview with will fill out a survey about how you (the participant) did, and this survey is kept with LITE. The partner organization that is involved will also receive a copy.
