The Springboard Jobs fund addresses a key challenge many of LITE’s partners have; how to provide support for members of their community quickly, on an as-needed basis.

Responses from participant surveys indicate that those accessing these jobs may struggle with issues such as making money in a safe way, covering household bills, or even face multiple barriers that complicate their efforts to become employed.

By working with our sponsors, funders and donors to keep this draw-down fund accessible to partners, LITE continues our mission to break down barriers to employment in Winnipeg’s central communities.

Who this funding is for:

  • People who are living on very low income, looking for a safe way to fill an income gap in their budget.
  • Job experiences can be 2 to 28 hours per participant (honorariums of $25 to $350).
  • Limit of 5 participants per application.
  • The funding is not meant to fund multi-week programs (talk to LITE staff about Job Grants or supporting wages through LITE’s social purchasing program).

Partners receiving funds will need to complete and submit certain organizational and participant (anonymized) reports. The application and reporting for this funding is quick and easy.

  4. As part of honorarium payment, facilitate an anonymous survey with the participant.
  5. Partners may access funds multiple times in a fiscal year. Submit all required reporting documents before submitting a new application.
